What is the best way to burn one of your candles?

The first time you burn your candle, its really important to keep it lit, until the entire surface is liquid.  This will help the candle burn down smoothly without residual wax sticking to the inside of the container (tunnelling).  Each time thereafter, do the same, keep it lit until the whole surface is liquid. If your burn your candle for approx 3 hours at the time and trim your wick to 1/4″ that will keep you right.

What is the best way to extinguish a candle?

We would recommend using a snuffer to extinguish your candle, by starving the flame of oxygen the flame with go out.  This helps to keep the wick intact and won’t damage it.  If you don’t have one, blow it out very gently and put the lid on to contain the smoke.  Once cooled if some fragements of the wick are on the candle’s surface, remove these.
